Museum Foundation's Engraved Brick Fund-Raising Program
China Lake Museum's Building Fund
The Museum Foundation has had an ongoing Building Fund for several years. The goal of the Building Fund is to secure sufficient funding to allow for the construction of a new museum building outside China Lake property located close to the existing Maturango Museum near the center of the City of Ridgecrest. Moving the Museum outside the gate will permit easier visitor access to the Museum. The primary fundraising activity has been the annual popular, fun-filled, dinner auctions that are held each spring. Now the Museum Foundation has established an exciting new addition to the Foundation's Building Fund. You can now buy custom-engraved bricks that will be displayed at the Museum. You can purchase a brick with your own customized words engraved on it. This is an excellent opportunity to highlight a fond memory of your time and career at China Lake, whether it be your name, the dates of your employment, your favorite weapon project that you worked on, an esteemed co-worker, or a family member or co-worker who worked at China Lake and has since passed away. Each purchased brick will be proudly displayed at the Museum with your engraved personalized words on it for viewing by visitors to the Museum. Please support the future expansion of the Museum and order your personalized brick now! Simply fill out the brick order form and send it in to the Museum with the appropriate donation to the Foundation's Building Fund. Or, if you prefer, come tour the Museum and purchase your brick in the well-stocked Museum Gift Shop. Samples of engraved bricks are displayed below. Admisson to the Museum is free. Note that two different sizes of bricks are available. The bottom picture below shows the brick display that is currently used within the Museum. Additonal displays will be added in the future in the same area of the Museum to accommdate new brick orders as they are received. After the new Museum building is constructed, the plan is to display the bricks outside the Museum for all visitors to see.
