The Naval Ordnance Laboratory, Corona, was for many years the Navy's fuzing expert, and Corona--as NOL and as a Bureau of Standards Laboratory before that--was a major player in the development of U.S. Guided missiles; NWC Corona Laboratories were closed and their functions relocated to China Lake in 1971.
