The China Lake Museum Foundation (CLMF) a 501(3)(c) organization directly supports the Museum in preserving and displaying the irreplaceable legacy of technology and weaponry for naval aviation's defense of our Nation. Dozens of China Lake and other Navy projects, old and new, are highlighted in the US Navy Museum.
Through displays and education, the Museum explains to the public the extraordinary heritage of the Navy's achievements in air warfare and other areas, with a special focus on China Lake and its military-civilian-industry teamwork, which has continued to lead the nation's defense and technological excellence for six decades. China Lake has been a research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) site since 1943. Today the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake is the largest of several sites that make up the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
The Displays, located at certain businesses in the Eastern Sierra communities and the museum, are used as educational tools and tourist attractions to complement other fund raising activities, i.e., gift shop, membership, sponsorship, annual dinner auction, etc in an effort to raise funds for the construction of a new museum building outside the main gate. The Foundation is aggressively seeking donor support from interested Corporations, Private Foundations, State, local Municipalities and individual Citizens.
